A day trip to Bury proved to be a reunion for members of the Mothers’ Union.
The 26 women travelled from Rhos-on-Sea in North Wales to visit two former members, now living in the borough.
Enid Horrocks and Ann Redding lead the Mothers’ Union branches at Ainsworth Parish Church, All Saints’ Church in Elton, and St James’ Church in Woolfold.
Their branches travelled to Rhos-on-Sea last year and hosted a return visit on Wednesday last week.
The groups enjoyed lunch at Ainsworth community hall, visited Bury Market, and attended a service at St James’ Church.
Mrs Horrocks, joint leader of the Ainsworth branch, said: “It was a wonderful day and everyone enjoyed themselves. I moved to Ainsworth in 2002 so it was lovely to see everyone from Rhos-on-Sea again.”
