Mothers' Union greets freshers

Mothers' Union Manchester welcomed 3000 students to Manchester University during Freshers' Week.

Greeting the freshers, many of whom were having their first taste of life away from home, we gave out 2775 goodie bags containing essentials such as tea bags, pasta, toothpaste and loo rolls.

We also served soup each lunchtime at the chaplaincy building on Oxford Road. Most important of all, members of Mother's Union gave the new students a warm welcome in a strange place.
