Mothers' Union has collected thousands of signatures to present to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, callling on the Government to:

1. fulfil its promise to tackle the commercialisation and sexualisation of childhood, and

2. take steps to fully prohibit sexualised media, marketing and products aimed at or easily accessible to children under 16.

Bishop Mark had signed the petition earlier, and other senior figures have added thir support.

On Tuesday (1 February) the Bishop of Leicester, the Rt Revd Tim Stevens, introduced a Question in the House of Lords entitled: "To ask Her Majesty's Government what steps they are taking to ensure the safety of children, especially of children in the care of local authorities, from being groomed for sexual exploitation."
