News: a final act and a new beginning

05 December 2012

Our President, Barbara Taylor, and President-elect, Catherine Hilton, represented members of Manchester Diocese on Monday, at the commissioning of Lynne Tembey.

This took place at St Matthew's Westminster within the context of an Advent service. Bishop Ken Clarke, Central Chaplain of Mothers' Union, presided. He will step down at the end of this year and so this was one of the last times he would worship with us. Archbishop Rowan spoke of the leadership and commitment of Rosemary Kempsell and challenged Lynne as he warmly blessed her for her new role.

The staff at Mary Sumner House organised a buffet lunch afterwards in the Conference Hall, giving the opportunity to share fellowship with members from as far away as Australia.
