We held our annual Crib Service on Christmas Eve, an event that is always well attended with normally 100 plus being in church. By demand we put on a play called ‘The Lonely Bat’ which tells the story of the nativity and, importantly, needs no rehearsal. As we aim to include as many of the children as possible in the service this can lead to some very odd and confusing scenes. In previous years there have been occasions when we have had two Baby Jesus’ and six Wise Men.

Suffice to say it’s all enormous fun, including the traditional mince pies and festive fare served afterwards.
